    CPD Trainer Accreditation Framework

1. Purpose

The purpose of this framework is to establish criteria and processes for the accreditation of individual trainers who deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs, ensuring they meet the necessary standards to facilitate effective learning.

2. Scope

This framework applies to all individuals seeking accreditation as trainers within SA CPD Body.

3. Definitions

  • • Trainer: An individual who facilitates learning and development through structured CPD programs.
  • • Accreditation: The process of evaluating and recognizing trainers based on established criteria for their training initiatives.

4. Accreditation Criteria

Individual trainers seeking accreditation must meet the following criteria:

4.1 Qualifications and Experience

  • • Relevant qualifications in the subject matter being taught.
  • • A minimum of one year of experience in training or a related field.

4.2 Training Delivery Skills

  • • Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective training sessions.
  • • Skills in using various training methodologies and technologies.

4.3 CPD Program Content

  • • Development of CPD programs that are relevant, up-to-date, and aligned with industry standards.
  • • Clear learning objectives and outcomes for each program.

4.4 Assessment and Evaluation Methods

  • • Use of appropriate assessment methods to evaluate learner performance.
  • • Processes for gathering feedback from participants to improve training delivery.

5. Application Process

• Interested trainers must submit an application form along with supporting documentation, including:

  • o CV or resume detailing qualifications and experience.
  • o Sample CPD program outlines and materials.
  • o Evidence of previous training evaluations or feedback.

6. Assessment Process

  • • The CPD Accreditation Committee will review applications based on established criteria.
  • • Interviews or demonstrations of training sessions may be conducted to assess delivery skills.

7. Accreditation Decision

• The CPD Accreditation Committee will make a decision on the accreditation status, which may be:

  • o Accredited
  • o Provisionally accredited (with conditions for further development)
  • o Not accredited

8. Accreditation Duration and Renewal

  • • Accreditation is valid for a period of 1 year.
  • • Trainers must submit a renewal application along with evidence of ongoing CPD activities prior to the expiration of their accreditation.

9. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • • Accredited trainers will be subject to periodic reviews to ensure adherence to the standards.
  • • Feedback from participants in CPD programs will be collected to assess training effectiveness.

10. Review of Framework

This framework will be reviewed every 3 years or as necessary to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with industry best practices.
